Visa Renewal

All applicants must schedule an interview appointment to apply for a visa. If an applicant is reapplying for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2), and meets the criteria below, the applicant may select the "Visitor Visa (B1/B2) Renewal" trip purpose.

For all other trip purposes, please apply using the normal process.

In order to use the "Visitor Visa (B1/B2) Renewal" category the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of Peru
  • Currently residing in Peru
  • An adult 18 years of age or older
  • Previously issued a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) in Peru that was valid for 10 years with multiple entries and expired within the last year
  • Never been refused a Visitor Visa (B1/B2)
  • Have a valid passport that is not damaged and is in good condition
  • Please schedule using a regular trip purpose (ie. "Visitor Visa (B1/B2)") if:
    • The U.S. Visa expired over a year ago
    • The passport is damaged
    • The applicant must travel immediately (please see Expedited Appointments)
    • The applicant is a domestic employee
    • The applicant is a Diplomat (please see Do I Need to Apply?)
      • Note: Retired Diplomats are permitted to renew Visitor Visa in regular passport.

Visa Application Procedures for "Visitor Visa (B1/B2) Renewal" trip purpose:

  1. Schedule an interview using the trip purpose "Visitor Visa (B1/B2) Renewal".
  2. Attend the scheduled interview appointment and submit the visa application documents.

NOTE: The Cosular Seciton will take several days to review the documents and issue a Visitor Visa (B1/B2). If further information is required, the Consular Section will communicate with the applicant directly.
