Each visa application is unique. Most applicants are required to schedule to apply for a nonimmigrant visa. In limited cases visa applicants are not required to schedule a consular interview.
If you meet all of the following requirements, you are eligible to apply for your visa in a special "frequent traveler" category.
"Frequent traveler" applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Must be renewing a Visitor Visa (B1/B2), Student (F), or Exchange Visitor (J)
- The previous visa must have been issued on or after November 1, 2007
- All ten fingerprints were captured at a prior visa interview
- The previous visa is valid or has expired within the last twelve months
- The applicant is applying for exactly the same type of visa
- If an F or J visa, the applicant must have the same SEVIS number as on the previous visa, and the applicant must submit his/her official transcript
- The applicant resides in Tanzania
- The applicant’s name is currently the same as on the previous visa
- The previous visa does not have "clearance received" written on it
Applicants meeting the requirements listed should pay their MRV fee through this service [please see Fee Payment Options on the left-hand menu] and schedule an appointment to submit their application. Please select "Frequent Traveler" as your trip purpose when scheduling the appointment through this service. A courier may submit the application on behalf of the applicant, but the applicant must have a booked appointment to do so.
If the visa is approved, the applicants may pick up their passport at the Embassy two days after submission.
Please Note: The use of this process does not guarantee visa issuance. In some cases, the Embassy may still require an applicant to appear for an in-person interview, especially if an application is incomplete or inaccurate.
