Passport Delivery Information

All passports with visas will be returned to the applicant via DHL. Applicants may choose between a DHL pickup location or delivery to an address. This service is provided at no additional cost to the applicant. To receive documents back from the Consular Section (i.e. your passport with visa), the applicant must be registered on this site. To do so, please click on "Sign In" at the top of this site. Follow the steps to select trip purpose, preferred DHL delivery location, and other relevant information requested for each applicant.

In general, documents are delivered within 3 business days once the Consular Section has released the applicant's documents for delivery. Please note, however, that there is never a guarantee with regards to how quickly the Consular Section will process your application. As the time it takes to adjudicate an applicant's case is at the sole discretion of the Consular Section, we cannot provide you any information regarding when your personal documents will be turned over to DHL.

PICK UP SERVICE AT A DHL POINT OF SERVICE (POS) LOCATION

Once the documents are ready for pickup, applicants 18 years or older must bring an official form of identification to the selected DHL Service Point location within 30 days. Applicants can also present the Air Waybill (AWB) Number in addition to their official identification. Any passports not retrieved within 30 days will be returned to the originating Consular Section.

  1. Official Identification can be one of the following:
    • Official or State issued Identification card (with photo)
    • Official driver’s license (with photo)

      If the applicant cannot present any of the above mentioned forms of identification, he/she will be asked for an original birth certificate for the DHL personnel to make a copy and attach it to the Proof of Delivery file. The DHL agent will also review the information from the passport or laser visa to make sure that the document is being handed to the applicant in question.

    • Parents of minor children must prove their identity with one of the above mentioned IDs. Parents may also choose to bring other documents to demonstrate their relationship to the child, such as an original or photocopy of a Birth Certificate or Adoption Decree.
    • If the applicant is unable to pick up their visa, a third party may retrieve the documents on their behalf. Third party individuals requested to collect another person’s documents should bring a signed letter of authorization signed by the applicant. The letter must be also signed by a Justice of the Peace or a Notarized Power of Attorney. The letter must be presented with a photocopy of applicant’s identification document attached. The person retrieving the documents must prove his/her identity with one of the IDs referred to in item 1.

HOME OR OFFICE DELIVERY SERVICE

  1. DHL attempts to deliver between 2 or 3 times at the requested address. In case the delivery is not successful, the shipment is returned to the Consular Section.
  2. DHL delivers the shipment to whomever is available at applicant´s address (restricted to adults).
  3. DHL delivers at the destination country during business days and hours.
  4. For business address destinations, DHL delivers to the Mailroom, Lobby Security Desk or receptionist, based on the destination office policy.
  5. Once the air waybill is printed, the applicant cannot modify the destination delivery information.
  6. DHL does not offer home delivery to the following areas:
    • Laventille –(East Dry River, Eastern Quarry, Marcano Quarry, FebeauV’ge, Tro Macaque Laventille Road)
    • Movant-(1St & 2nd Caledonia, Never Dirty, Laventille Extension Road, Upper Lady Young Road, Red Hill Extension Romain Lands Pelican Extension ChinapooVillagee, Paradise Heights.)
    • Belmont-(Belmont Valley Road , Belle Eau Road, San Francois Valley Road, Gonzales, ST. Barbs and all areas east of Belmont circular road.)
    • Beetham Estate and Sea Lots (Except Business places.)
    • Upper MalickBarataria.
    • Laventille Road San Juan.

As the time it takes to adjudicate an applicant's case is at the sole discretion of the Consular Section, we cannot provide you with any information regarding when your personal documents will be turned over to DHL.

To find the status of your documents, you must log in to your account in our system. On the Applicant Summary page, you will see the status of pickup/delivery availability from DHL. The document status information only appears once your personal documents have been released by the Consular Section for shipment to your designated courier delivery method.

Possible statuses include:

In Transit

  • The applicant’s documents have been picked up at the Consular Section by DHL.

Ready for Pick-up at Courier Location

  • The applicant's documents are available for pickup at the DHL location that was selected. Passports not claimed within 30 days of delivery to the selected courier location will be returned to the Consular Section.

Delivered

  • The applicant's documents have been given to them at the DHL location that was selected.

No Package Available for Pickup

  • At this time the system does not show that there are documents en route or available for pickup. Please check again at a later time.

Under limited circumstances, an applicant may be required to send documentation to the Consular Section. Only do this if the Consular Section has instructed you to do so, or if the process to apply for a particular trip purpose clearly indicates that you must submit documentation through DHL.
